Donations are being accepted at the Itaewon Global Center on behalf of The Foreigner & Immigrant Virtual Community Center, a group dedicated to providing support for foreigners and immigrants in need. Donations can be dropped off in person.
This group (The Foreigner & Immigrant Virtual Community Center) was founded in response to the significant demand for aid in immigrant and foreign communities since 2020. Their goal is to fill gaps in support and act as a safety net for those in our community who require assistance.
Please note that donations will be accepted only until May 19th (Fri) 5:00 PM. And all your donations will be part of the upcoming Community Closet Event (kindly read the next post).
On May 20th (Saturday), the Itaewon Global Village Center and Foreigner & Immigrant Virtual Community Center in Korea will be hosting a “Community Closet (무료 나눔 장터): Sustainability Market Day” in the afternoon from around 1:30PM to 5:00PM.You are welcome to bring in items for donation from today until 5:00 PM of May 19th (Fri). The following day (May 20th), there will be a 'FREE market’ in which those in need of particular items can choose from the items available. You can choose different items at NO COST. While everyone is welcome to take any available items, please take only what you need. The donated items are for those who truly need them, so reselling the items is discouraged.
This event is a great opportunity for those who may be struggling to obtain necessary items and could greatly benefit from these donations, and offer others a philanthropic way to get rid of unused items sitting around in a way that promotes sustainability. Leftover donated items will be sent to Goodwill Store.
Please bring your own bag when you come for the event.
Location: Itaewon Global Village Center (from Exit 2 of Itaewon Station go straight until you see 7-11 convenience store).
